Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you'd want to know before booking with us. For questions specific to a particular tour — like exact pickup times or what's included at each level — check that tour's own "Good to Know" section.

How do I book a tour?

Simply message us on WhatsApp with the tour you're interested in, your dates, and group size. We'll confirm availability and walk you through the details — no payment is required just to enquire.

Are your tours really private?

Yes, every tour we run is fully private to your own group — just you, your family, or your friends. We don't combine bookings with strangers.

How and when do I pay?

Payment is arranged directly with our team once your itinerary is confirmed — typically in cash in Egyptian Pounds, US Dollars or Euros, or by bank transfer. For group bookings (7+ travellers) or tours during peak season (October–April), a 25% deposit may be requested to secure your date. We'll explain your options when you book.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

Yes — cancellations more than 24 hours before your tour (48 hours for Abu Simbel) are free of charge. Cancelling 24–12 hours before incurs a 50% charge, and under 12 hours or a no-show is charged in full, since the vehicle, guide and entrance arrangements are already committed by then. Just message us on WhatsApp as early as possible and we'll take care of it.

Is a guide included in every tour?

It depends on the tour. Some experiences include a licensed Egyptologist guide as standard; on others, a guide is available as an add-on. Each tour page states this clearly under its tiers or inclusions.

What's a typical group size?

Most of our guests travel as couples, families or small friend groups. Vehicles and boats are sized to your group specifically — we don't add other travellers to your booking.

Do I need a visa to visit Egypt?

Most nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival or an e-visa in advance, depending on your passport. We recommend checking your country's specific requirements before you travel; we're happy to advise based on what we know.

What should I wear when visiting temples and mosques?

Modest clothing is appreciated — shoulders and knees covered is a safe guideline, especially at religious and historic sites.

Is Egypt safe for tourists?

Yes, the main tourist areas across Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and Hurghada are well used to international visitors and see millions of travellers safely every year. Our drivers and guides know each route and site well.

What's the best time of year to visit?

October to April offers the most comfortable temperatures for sightseeing, especially in Upper Egypt. Summer (June–August) is hot but still very popular, particularly for Red Sea destinations like Hurghada.

Are gratuities expected?

Tipping is customary in Egypt for drivers, guides and service staff, though it's always at your discretion. We're happy to advise on typical amounts if you're unsure.

Can you arrange transport between cities as well as tours?

Yes — we run a private transfer between Aswan and Luxor, with the option to combine it with sightseeing at Kom Ombo and Edfu along the way.

Do you work with hotels or only independent travellers?

Both. Whether you're staying at a hotel, a Nile cruise, or arranging your own accommodation, we can build tours and transfers around your plans.

How far in advance should I book?

We can often accommodate short-notice requests, but booking a few days ahead — especially for early-morning tours like Abu Simbel or hot air balloon flights — gives us the best chance of confirming your preferred date and time.
